2011 Flying Purple Cup was the fourth edition of the cup. It was hosted by Qatar for reasons not exactly clear.
Following the abandoned 2010 edition, the cup was reformed to drop group stages and introduce a round-robin phase. However a draw was still conducted because draws are awesome.

The 2011 Flying Purple Cup was hosted in Flying Purple Dubai because Sheikh Cockroach Al-Teal donated 30 million cookies to Deff Blatter's Swiss bank account.
A short series of ads, called Pedro's Adventures in 2011, were produced in order to enwarmen FIFPA's and Qatar's public image[1][2]. They were probably successful, I dunno.
The tournament[]
A giant round-robin took its sweet time to take off, but was eventually a success, with the 2011 edition causing more gameplay hours than any edition before it. Four best players advanced to the semifinal stage: FM, Soggy, Talon and Veggie. FM then won the final against Veggie because he's awful like that. Talon and Soggy both lost the third place match on account of not playing it
